Laurens County has several Law Enforcement agencies within it's jurisdiction, and Laurens County Lodge #29 host members from almost all of them, as well as other agencies from out side of the county.

Laurens County is situated in the upstate of South Carolina, about 70 miles from Columbia, our state capitol. 

Laurens County Square. 

The Laurens County Square, is the home of our Historic Court House which is located in the center of the county seat.


The Laurens Public Square is the Center of the City of Laurens. Along its streets that surround the Historic Courthouse, are many small businesses that help the citizens with their everyday needs.

One of the cities in Laurens County, is the City of Laurens. The Laurens Police Department, and it's officers are always ready to "Protect and Serve".​​​​​​​

The city of Clinton is located just south of the city of Laurens, and is rich in history as well. Clinton is the home of Presbyterian College, with it's flowing green campus and many sports facilities, ​​​​​​​PC is also the home of "Cyrus" the largest bronze statue of a Scotsman in the world located just outside the front gates to Bailey Stadium.

Chris Hudson

      President

Chris, is a 1989 graduate of  Ware Shoals High School, and started law enforcement in 1989 at Gardner Webb University. After playing two and a half years of collegiate golf for the Running Bulldogs, He returned to his home County of Laurens to serve as a Tele-Communicator with Laurens County E- 911. Chris then served as Sergeant of Public Safety at Greenville Technical College. Hudson then served prior to his retirement with the Laurens County Sheriffs Office 17 years in many positions, with the last 8 years as Major/Jail Administrator. He was award Life Membership into the South Carolina Jail Administrators Association where he served as Chaplain, Vice President for two years and President for two years respectively. Hudson holds a Bachelor of Criminal Justice Degree from Anderson University. Major Hudson was award in 2014 Anderson University Alumnus of the Year Award. Major Hudson has been involved in the FOP for many years and serves as our lodge President. He believes that EVERY officer should have the opportunity to be a member of the FOP, so that they may be covered by the FOP Legal Defense plan.

Ed  Turner

  1st Vice     President

Ed is a retired Law Enforcement Officer with 46 years of service, and has been a member of the FOP since 1990. Ed brings a vast amount of law enforcement knowledge to Laurens County Lodge #29, but also a great understanding of the workings of the FOP and what it stands for and does for its members.

Marty   Crain

    Secretary

Marty became interested in Law Enforcement just out of high school and joined the Explorer Post of the Anderson County Sheriff's Office. Marty has been in full time Law Enforcement for 24 years, with all of his time employed with the  Laurens County Sheriff's Office. He has served in a number of positions throughout his career, rising through the ranks within the department from Detention Officer, SWAT, and Road Patrol Shift Lieutenant, a position he held for 16 years, and now the last several years as a School Resource Officer. Marty  was the head Advisor of the LCSO's Law Enforcement Explorer program in which he worked with the youth of Laurens County for 18 years who were interested in a career in the field of Law Enforcement. Marty joined the FOP 15 years ago as a charter member of Lodge #29, in which 13 of those years he has held positions on the executive board.

      Ted Richardson

  2nd Vice     President

Ted has served for almost 30 years in law enforcement in Laurens County, his current role is  serving as the School Resource Officer at Laurens Elementary school with the Laurens Police Department.

Charles     Boyce

   Chaplain


 I am a Law Enforcement Officer of the state of South Carolina, and have been since 1986. I am currently employed with the Laurens County Sheriff's Office, and have been for over the past 33 years. I have served as the Chaplain of the Laurens County Sheriff's Office since 1993. I have held the position as Administrative Captain with the Laurens County Sheriff's Office for over 28 years. I have served in the position as Chaplain of the Laurens County Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge #29 for nearly 13 years and currently serving in this position. I currently serve on the Laurens County grievance Committee, I have served as a representative of the Laurens County Sheriff's Office since 1993. I have served as a Pastor for the Lord Jesus Christ since 1997 to this current date. I have been bless to have labored in the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ for the past 23 years. I am wonderfully blessed to be a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #29 under the leadership and the fellowship of our current President its officers and all of its members.

Tim is a retired Deputy/SRO who served with the Laurens County Sheriff's Office. Tim became a member of 
Lodge #29 when it was formed.
